GLF have recently been awarded the façade contract to the new University of Limerick Bernal Building. The Bernal Building will be on the South Campus and the first phase will consist of a new four storey structure (plus plant rooms at roof level) with a gross floor area 7,650 sq. m.
The building is being designed to achieve BREEAM excellent rating, and will be only the second university building in Ireland to achieve this rating.
The building will feature high performance curtain walling, metal rainscreen cladding and a unique glass CUBE with bespoke printed-pattern glass cladding. PJ Hegarty recently commenced construction of the facility which is designed by RKD Architects. GLF hope to build on its recent success at UL Medical School by providing another high-quality façade solution at the University.
